Game development lecture series by Kaljameri Games

To celebrate the National Games Day, Kaljameri Games arranges a 4-day lesson series with the title "From Concept to Controls - 3d character creation" during the Games Day theme week from 16th to 21st of November. The lectures are held at Jamk Lutakko Campus auditorium at 3 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The series starts with Miia telling about her character design workflow and showing how a turnaround picture used in 3d modeling is drawn. Next, Jarno uses that turnaround to model and texture the character. He also shows how the normal maps are sculpted and baked. On Thursday, Markus tells about character animation and shows how the rigging and animations are done. Finally, Antti shows how the character's controls and animations are programmed in game engine.

The event is free of charge and open to everyone interested in seeing how games are made. We believe the hands-on demonstration style of the lectures will have something to give to everybody, whether already studying or working in the industry, or completely layperson just interested in having a sneak peek behind the scenes of game development.

Here are the Facebook events for the lessons:
